Terms of Service — Using ClearIDPhoto

These Terms govern your use of ClearIDPhoto (the "Service"), operated from https://www.clearidphoto.com. By using the Service you agree to these Terms; if you don't, please don't use the Service.

1. What the Service does

ClearIDPhoto is a browser-side tool for creating compliant passport, visa, and identity-document photos. We do not transmit, store, or process your image files on our servers — everything happens on your device. Country specifications are cross-checked against the official issuing authority and ICAO Doc 9303.

2. No government affiliation

ClearIDPhoto is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any government, embassy, consulate, ministry of foreign affairs, or other issuing authority. The fact that we generate photos to a particular country's specification does not make us an agent of that country.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the Service to create photos of yourself, family members, and other individuals for whom you have the right to do so. You agree not to use the Service:

to produce a photograph for use in fraud, identity theft, or any other crime;
to process images of other people without a lawful basis to do so;
to reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying machine-learning models we ship to your browser;
in any way that violates the laws of your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of the issuing authority you are applying to.

4. Pricing and payment

Free validation is unlimited. Generating a downloadable, watermark-free photo file costs a one-time fee of €4.99 per download. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no auto-renewal. Payment is handled by Stripe.

5. Refund policy

We offer refunds in two situations:

Spec mismatch. If the file we produced does not match the spec we publish for that country, we refund in full.
Cooling-off period. For any other reason, we refund in full within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked.

We do not guarantee acceptance by any authority and do not refund a photo that an issuing authority rejects — you are responsible for ensuring your photo meets your application’s requirements before you submit it.

Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5 business days. Email contact@clearidphoto.com to request one.

6. Accuracy and disclaimer

We work hard to keep every country specification accurate and current. However, government rules can change without notice. ClearIDPhoto is provided "as is", and we make no warranty that a photo produced by the Service will be accepted by any particular authority. Your refund rights above are your sole and exclusive remedy.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Intellectual property

The ClearIDPhoto brand, source code, content, and proprietary parts of the pipeline belong to us. The image files you generate belong to you — we do not claim any rights in them. You may use your generated photo for any lawful purpose.

8. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may change the Service (add countries, improve the pipeline, adjust pricing for future purchases) and we may update these Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date when we do. Material changes affecting already-purchased downloads will be announced before they take effect.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend access to anyone who uses the Service for illegal purposes or who tries to attack the site.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the country in which we are incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country provide otherwise.
