Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

The short version

  • Your photo never leaves your browser. There is no server to upload to. The entire pipeline runs on your device.
  • No tracking cookies. We use a single, strictly-necessary cookie for the (optional) payment session. No advertising or analytics cookies.
  • No account. We do not require — or even offer — sign-up. There is no profile, no password, no email address required to use the editor.

1. What "in your browser" means

ClearIDPhoto is a client-side web application. When you upload a photo, your file is read into the memory of the browser tab you are currently looking at. From there, it is passed to a Web Worker — still inside the same tab — which runs the face detection (MediaPipe), background removal (a small ONNX model), cropping, and compression. The corrected JPEG and the print-sheet PDF are also generated inside the tab. Nothing we do reaches out to a server with the image bytes.

You can verify this for yourself: open your browser's network inspector (DevTools → Network) and watch what ClearIDPhoto requests while you use it. You will see the page assets and the ML model files we fetch once; you will never see your photo go out.

2. Information we do collect

We collect the minimum necessary to operate the site:

  • Anonymous request logs. Our web host records the IP address, user agent, and URL of each request, for at most 30 days. These logs are used only to diagnose outages and abuse, never associated with any individual.
  • Payment records. If you purchase a download, our payment processor (Stripe) handles the transaction. We receive a transaction ID, the amount, and the country of the issuing bank — never your card number. Stripe keeps your payment data under its own privacy policy.
  • Support emails. If you email us, we keep that email so we can reply. We never share it with anyone else.

3. Cookies and tracking

ClearIDPhoto does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. The only cookies you may encounter come from Stripe during a payment session — they are strictly necessary to complete the transaction and disappear when you close the tab.

We do not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracker.

4. Children's privacy

ClearIDPhoto is intended for use by adults producing passport, visa, and ID photos — including photos of their own children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no photos leave your browser, no children's images ever reach us.

5. Your rights

Because we do not store your photos, we cannot delete them on request — they are never stored in the first place. For payment records and support emails, you have the standard rights under GDPR / CCPA: you can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing contact@clearidphoto.com.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change materially expands what we collect, we will say so loudly on the home page.
