About ClearIDPhoto
We build the easiest, most private way to make a compliant passport, visa, or ID photo. No app to install, no account to create, and — critically — no server to upload your photo to.
Government photo specifications are deceptively strict. A US passport photo must be 2 × 2 inches; the head must be 1 to 1 3/8 inches from chin to crown; the background must be white or off-white; eyeglasses have been forbidden since November 2016. Get any of those wrong and the application comes back two weeks later, costing time, money, and (often) a trip.
We started ClearIDPhoto because the existing options are bad in opposite ways. Photo studios are accurate but slow, expensive, and require travel. Free online crop tools are fast and free, but ignore everything except the aspect ratio — leaving you to find out at the consulate that your head was 8 mm too small. We wanted the speed of the second and the accuracy of the first, plus a third quality nobody offers: your photo never leaves your device.
Every step — face detection, background removal, cropping, compression, and the 16 compliance checks — runs in your browser via WebAssembly and a Web Worker. There is no image-processing server. There is no upload. We literally could not look at your photo if we wanted to.

Privacy is not a setting we toggle on — it is how the product is architected. There is no server to upload to, so there is no breach to fear.
Accuracy over polish
We cross-check every country spec against the issuing authority and ICAO 9303. If a rule changes, we update within days, not months.
A passport is global, so are we
We support the documents people actually need — major passports, visas with online uploads, and edge cases (UK landscape visa, Spain landscape passport).

No filters, no AI enhancement, no creative liberties. We give you a photo that matches the spec — exactly — so it gets accepted on the first try.

ClearIDPhoto is an independent product. We are not affiliated with any government, embassy, or issuing authority. We simply read their publicly documented requirements and convert your photo to match. Each country page cites the official source we used.
